For One Hundred and Forty-Nine years, Campbell's Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church has stood as a spiritual beacon of light in the Carrollton/Isle of Wight County/Smithfield Virginia area. Our mission is to provide hope, inspiration, and encouragement through preaching, teaching, and sharing God's Word; ministering to the social, physical, and spiritual needs of the church and community-at-large; and glorifying God in all of our undertakings.

Since Reverend Billy Ray Hunter came to us in April 2018, the following ministries have been implemented: Children's Church, Food Pantry, Midweek Refresher and Transportation Ministry (Fifteen passenger bus). At the fourth Quarterly Conference, Exhorter Guy became Licentiate Guy. Additionally, we purchased a new copier, computers, televisions, freezer, PA equipment and box truck.

We know that our work in the Lord’s house is never finished. We are striving to achieve greater participation, growth, faithfulness, and love among all members for each other and for our Church.

Our journey has not always been bright, but we can truthfully say, “Through many dangers, toils and snares, we have already come, that it was grace that brought us safe thus far and grace will lead us on.” God has been our guide through the years. We will continue with God as our Divine leader as we labor in his vineyard until that great day when He says, “Well done thou good and faithful servants.”
