St. Paul AME Church in Danville, VA (formerly known as Lynn Street AME Church), was founded in 1867. The current sanctuary on Gay and Monroe St. was built in 1938. There have been many servant leaders to pastor St. Paul. Some to have served were: Rev. Spradley, Rev. L.P. Herring, Sr., (Bishop) Rev. Phillip R. Cousin, Sr., Rev. A. I. Dunlap, (Elder) Rev. Paul Adkins, Rev. Tanya Lowe, Rev. Frank Hill, Rev. Isaac Jackson, Rev. Jaz Hemby, and many more.
St. Paul AME has served the Danville community via the Westmoreland Neighborhood organization and the Danville Ministers Alliance. St. Paul has blessed God’s Storehouse, a local food pantry on several occasions.
We thank God for the wonderful work that God has done throughout the long history of St. Paul.
